Regional Mobile Market networks can support mobile markets via information sharing, joint funding and advocacy, collective data reporting, and much more. Have you always wanted to connect with other nearby Mobile Markets, but have yet to do so? We know that this work can sometimes be outside the scope of Mobile Market managers' jobs, but can bring value to their work in their respective communities.
We're excited to launch this competitive funding opportunity for those that want to plan, start, or expand a regional network of mobile market operators. Applications are currently open and will close at 5pm ET January 20th.
Eligible applicants: Active Mobile Market operators or stakeholders with a demonstrated interest in regional Mobile Market networks. Applicants can represent nonprofit, university, government, or other organization types. Awards will not be given to unaffiliated individuals. Applicants should be prepared to complete the expected tasks below during the 6-month award term in 2025.
Technical assistance: Selected applicants will receive not only the stipend for capacity building, but also hands on support and technical assistance from MMC leadership to meet the applicant’s goals, for up to 2 hours per month for a year.
Funding requirements: The stipend is meant to be used for the staffing costs and other related expenses in the pursuit of establishing a new regional Mobile Market or growing an existing one. 50% of the stipend will be issued upon being selected and completing an MOU, and the remainder will be issued upon satisfactory completion of the deliverables below.
